During November and December each year, Santa and the Rotary Club of Derby volunteers have visited homes in Chellaston, Littleover and Mickleover to raise funds for their chosen charities. We and the elves are busy working hard to try and bring Santa to the children of Derby this year, adapting the annual Santa Sleigh to spread joy and excitement to even more children this year, We are hoping, subject to the localised COVID restrictions in place, and of course, weather permitting that it may be possible for Santa and his sleigh to make an official appearance.
The Rotary Club of Derby are this year raising money for two charities through the Santa Sleigh and Derby Santa initiatives. Safe and Sound Group and Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre, two charities who support some of the most vulnerable local young people.
Our chosen Charity Partners for 2020
Since 2002, we have been tackling child sexual exploitation by providing high quality tailored one-to-one support to victims and young people at risk in Derby and Derbyshire.
From 2020, whilst maintaining our specialism in sexual exploitation, we have expanded our services to wider forms of exploitation. Our focus is on prevention, early intervention, diversion and transition.
We are committed to raising awareness which is why we deliver education and awareness to children, parents, professionals and the public to ensure that those at risk of or affected by exploitation are responded to effectively.
For over 125 years, Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre has provided children across the county with a week-long holiday at our specialist residential centre on the seafront in Skegness…
We provide disadvantaged youngsters with a break they might never receive, helping with their education and self-esteem; making friends and memories that last a lifetime.
We rely solely on financial donations from the public and on those who give up their time to help. Every penny donated goes directly towards helping the most disadvantaged children in our society.
If you’d like to support us this year you can do so below, by either donating to our Just Giving page, purchasing a personalised letter from Santa or donating a letter from Santa to one of the underprivileged children that are supported by our chosen charities this year.
